• An environment where Irvine will not be left without human company for extended periods
• Another active and playful resident dog who doesn’t mind puppy shenanigans
Irvine is a beautiful boy and at just over 1 year old and still has some puppy qualities. Don’t be fooled by his cranky little face – this guy is a bundle of love. Everyone that has met him has been completely charmed. He also has the softest ears and head which are just asking for pats.
He is initially a bit shy when he meets new people – but if they come with food treats he very quickly warms up.
He loves his humans and his furry mates – so he must go to a home with another dog to show him the ropes. He currently lives with a gentle, submissive old female Bull Arab, who tolerates his puppy shenanigans.
He is toilet trained, sleeps through the night like a champ, walks really well on the lead and is very food motivated. Since he has been in foster care he has got the hang of “sit”, “wait” (for his dinner), “off” (the couch), and is starting to learn how to “drop”. He also impressed his carer when he found a baby ring tail possum on the ground, and when told to leave it, he did. Good boy!
He has not been tested with cats.
He needs a family with older kids (over 12 years) as he is still a bit mouthy and jumpy, an owner that will continue to train him to be the best he can be, a secure yard, and a family that will include him in their life. He is an inside dog mostly as he likes to hang out with his people.
Likes – long walks with his humans, his doggy mate, food, snoozing after a walk, sitting on his humans lap.
Dislikes – the vet, being away from his doggy mate, being left at home for long periods
