About Saroo - Located in Northcote
Happy boy Saroo is pure joy. He loves to chase his toys and explore the house, wardrobe and cabinets included, no space remains unexplored. He loves to sing and never says no to a head rub.
Saroo, lion in Hindi, because of his intrepid nature and adventurous spirit. He is diagnosed with mild-moderate Cerebellar Hypoplasia, please see medical notes. He is very much in love with his brother Makani, they hug in their sleep and play together. Couple adoption would be preferred. He has 4 other CH siblings available for adoption.
Before applying to meet one of our cats, please ensure that
- you have the agreement of all members of the household to adopt a Cat
- you have your landlords permission to keep a pet. More information on what to do is available at https://www.consumer.vic.gov.au/housing/renting/applying-for-a-rental-property-or-room/pets-and-renting
- you have all the necessary bits and pieces to welcome your new family member, starting with a cat carrier to bring them home, a litter tray, litter, food and bowls as well as a bed, toys and scratchers
- you are ready to welcome them home NOW. We are unable to hold a cat for you if you are not ready to adopt.

Medical notes
The adoption fee includes desexing, microchip, current vaccination, flea and worm treatment while in care. No health issues unless listed below.
Saroo has been diagnosed with mild-moderate Cerebellar Hypoplasia, a condition that doesn’t get worse over time, the cat will adjust and learn to cope with it. It affects coordination so that cats have wobble walks but otherwise enjoy the same long and fulfilling life of any other cats. He is litter trained and clean, totally independent. Check out CH facebook group (with 17K members), youtube videos or Instagram stories. CH cats need to be indoor and preferably only cat unless with siblings (because they can’t defend themselves) and would need a carpeted or non-slippery floor to walk around with ease (no wooden boards).
Maneki Neko Cat Rescue would like to help ensure you and your new companion have a long and happy life together.
If you should find that you are not a purrfect match - or if you need to rehome your cat at any stage of its life - Maneki Neko Cat Rescue will take the cat back into care and find a new home.
Maneki Neko Cat Rescue provides a 7 day health warranty on all adoptions.
Although all our cats and kittens are health checked prior to adoption, sometimes the stress of a new environment can upset their immune system.
