About Mia
💕Our Shelter Queen 👑
Mia holds a very special place in our hearts — she’s our longest-term resident, and every single one of us at the shelter absolutely adores her. Over the years, Mia has come such a long way in her training and confidence thanks to the incredible team at Building Better Dogs.
Mia’s story hasn’t been an easy one. She has had a tough start to life, having suffered abuse as a young pup, she came to us as a victim of domestic violence, and because of that, she carries a little PTSD. But despite everything she’s endured, she has shown remarkable strength and resilience. While she may never fully forget her past, she has learned to trust again — and once she does, you’ll have her whole heart. ❤️
Thanks to the dedication of Promising Paws and the expert guidance of Building Better Dogs, she has made incredible progress and is now ready to find the loving home she truly deserves.
Bringing Mia into your home won’t be easy, but it will be so worth it. She’ll need a few meet-and-greets to build that precious trust, and we’ll be right there beside you every step of the way, working closely with our professional trainer to ensure a smooth transition and continued success.
Once Mia trusts you, she will be the most loyal, loving companion you could ever ask for. She adores her people and will form an unbreakable bond with her new owner.
She is fit, healthy, eager to learn, and full of love — she just needs someone committed to continuing her progress — a steady hand to guide her, reassure her, and give her the safety and security she’s always deserved.
To give Mia the best chance at success, her new home will have to meet a few important conditions:
✅ Experienced dog owner willing to continue her training
✅ Only dog in the home (she thrives best without other pets)
✅ No small children or cats, as Mia needs a calm, structured environment
Building Better Dogs has generously offered a few free training sessions to help Mia adjust into her new home environment.
Mia is loyal, loving, protective and wonderfully quirky. She’s starting to mellow out with age, and she has the cutest Staffy snort that will make you smile every day. She loves her car rides, swimming, her toys — and most of all, she loves being part of someone’s world.
Mia has been so happy at our shelter — it’s the only home she’s really known — but we dream of the day she finds her forever family, the one who’ll finally show her what it means to be truly safe and loved.
Anyone who adopts or fosters Mia will have ongoing access to our trainer and full support from our team.
Mia is absolutely adored by everyone at the shelter — she’s our queen, our heart, and we know the right home is out there waiting for her. Could that be you? 👑💖
