About Jacob
Hi, I’m Jacob! I’m a qualified toy tester and certified good boy! Part of my job includes vigorous napping, snacking and snuggling! My foster family say I'm playful and affectionate and take my good boy role very seriously. I’m also very good looking, you’ll find me often staring at myself in the mirror – cos why not?!
My foster family say I have a super sweet nature and have a heart of gold, but I can be a bit silly and forget how big I am at times. Whilst I enjoy a good nap, I also enjoy a vigorous zoomie, so I will need a backyard. Sometimes when on walks I can get a bit excited, so I will need someone who can help me to learn to pace myself! I am a big boy and love my zoomies, so will need a good sized yard.
Although I am big, I still get scared sometimes especially of loud noises like thunder or odd looking things like bikes!
I will need ongoing training and strict boundaries as I am still learning. I could be the only dog in the household, but I do like other dogs, so would also love a friend. I do love other dogs!
Summary:
- Experience with dogs
- WFH or part time
- Not cat friendly
- Needs a backyard
Adoption details
STEP 1 – ENQUIRE & EOI FORM:
Click 'Enquire about this pet' to contact us or email us at adoptions@greytgreys.org to express interest in the hound that you are looking at. We'll send you an EOI form, this must be returned before proceeding.
If the greyhound you have applied for is unavailable or unsuitable, we can match you with a more suitable greyhound. We may have a hound in foster care who might be well suited to your family.
STEP 2 – LET'S CHAT:
We'll phone you to discuss suitability, clarify any points of your application and chat process and next steps.
STEP 3 – HOUSE CHECK & MEET + GREET:
We'll come to you! The meet + greet is conducted at the same time that a house check is carried out. The meet + greet is the day that your newly adopted greyhound will be able to stay on with you.
Our adoption fee is $350.00 and must be paid on on the day of the meet + greet, and prior to starting your 3 week trial. Support from our team is freely available. If you have any issues, we urge you to contact us to try and work through them, as all rescue greyhounds have some period of adjustment.
If after the 3 week trial, you feel that you need to return the greyhound, we will refund your adoption fee (less a $50 administration fee), upon return of the dog and all paperwork and other items that the dog was adopted with.
All of our hounds are adopted out with the following:
> Collar, lead & coat
> Certificate of sterilisation & vaccination
> Flea & worm treated
> Care information for your newly adopted greyhound
> Access to our private Facebook page for foster carers, volunteers and adopters of our hounds. A community with invaluable advice and support.
