Belle

I'm Belle and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.

What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• Rides in the car
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A doggie playmate would be great, if not then lots of socialising with other dogs
• I like both friendly male and female dogs. I can be a bit nervous of very boisterous dogs so I'd rather go to a home with a chilled out playmate
• I have lots of energy so an active family is a must
• I am a clever, young and active doggo - I would be great for dog training, trick training, agility etc.
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• I can be shy at first so I need a family who'll allow me to grow in confidence in my own time
• Lots of love and attention
• Happy to live with children - I have previously lived with autistic children and was taught to open doors and follow the children if they wandered off and keep them safe until their parents came.
• Being a social and playful pupper I would love to go to doggy daycare

Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• Cats, rabbits, guinea pigs & livestock - I'm a bit too interested in them.

My best features:
• LOVE people
• Housetrained
• Happy to hang out with other dogs
• Love kids
• Gentle & placid
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• I have had some basic obedience training and am a generally well-mannered dog. I am clever and eager to learn so would love a family who will teach me some cool tricks.

Where I need to improve / Training required
• I can be unsure on the lead - lots of walking, training and walking me in a halti or harness should help me learn that going for walks is a fun thing to do
• I am shy at first with new people and in new environments so will require a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue on with my socialization
• Unsure in new situations - more socialising is needed

ANY EXISTING DOGS AT HOME MUST COME TO THE SHELTER TO MEET BELLE BEFORE AN ADOPTION CAN BE APPROVED
