Sophia -Desexed and Vaccinated

Sophia was the worst neglect case we have seen so far this year. The poor girl must have endured a lot to have gotten to the pound in the state she was in. She had been starved to within an inch of her life, and was a walking skeleton with her backbone and ribs protruding, not the slightest amount of fat on her body. She had mange, so most of her hair had fallen out, and in such a state she had escaped or been released from a cruel and heartless owner. This degree of damage could not have occured overnight, so someone had to have watched her slowly starve. Sophia couldn't fend for herself in the wild, and a member of the public took her to the pound. There she weighed approx. 1kg. The staff couldn't leave her in the pound environment where her immune system was already suffering, so the manager took her home until we were able to rescue her. After spending a few weeks with our caring vets, and now back in our care, sophia has almost doubled her weight. She has new fur emerging. The tips of her ears are missing, but this does not affect her. Despite being a little skittish upon arrival, she becomes more friendly every day and now really looks forward to her treats and pats. She is eating like a horse!!
