About Everest DL2596
Three year old Labrador Mix, Everest, is an absolute sweetheart! She is an affectionate dog who just wants to be near her humans, loves pats and giving slobbery kisses.
She definitely considers herself an inside dog, and gets upset if left outside when you’re home. That said, she copes well with being left at home while her humans are at work, and is not destructive, happily lounging the day away. She is house-trained, and knows not to jump on the bed or couch, or to beg for food. She is not fussed about toys, but loves to frolic in water.
Everest needs more training when it comes to walking on lead. She is well behaved when there are no distractions, loving a thorough sniff, and is friendly with strangers and polite doggy greetings. However, she gets anxious around barking dogs, noisy cars, trucks, construction work, and the local childcare centre, leading to her pulling very strongly on the lead. As she weighs 33kg, she needs a confident and physically strong handler who can work on this.
Everest is okay with calm, friendly dogs. She hasn't yet been tested with cats, other pets, or children. At this stage she is looking for a home without kids, where you can focus your attention on her training. She is a clever girl, who has already mastered sit, stay, shake, and bed commands. She will make a fantastic companion to her new family.
If you'd love to welcome Everest into your home, email DFLadoption@gmail.com to apply.
Medical notes
Everest has sore ears and a possible lump on her lip that need attention. All vet bills are covered by the rescue while in foster care.
