Fitzgerald is a cuddle loving, kid friendly little boy. Whilst he enjoys going for a walk, his experience on a leash is limited. He is learning not to pull and will need further training. His eagerness to meet other dogs whilst walking, most often leads to him pulling more and barking. However, if he is allowed to get close and say hello, his little tail wags and all is fine for most dogs. Again, he will need more training is this area. He is learning to sit and wait for his tea and also waiting to be asked to come in and go out the front door. He loves nothing more than a belly rub and a cuddle and will come and sit next to you on the couch if allowed. He is toilet trained and his previous owner said he used a doggy door.
Tule is Fitzgerald's friend. She also loves a cuddle and is kid friendly. Tule can get quite excited when people come to visit and when playing can "mouth" a bit, but we are trying to train this out of her and she is doing quite well. When walking Tule on her own, she only pulls a little bit and is happy to approach other dogs without the pulling and barking that Fitzgerald displays. Tule will sit when asked (most times), and is learning to wait when coming in through the back door and going out the front door. Tule will also come for a cuddle on the couch if allowed but will then usually go sit by herself after a while. Tule has a deformity in her right front leg, as you can see in the photos. The vet said there is a small sign of arthritis, but as she is very mobile and her leg doesn't slow her down in the slightest, there is no need for intervention.
Both Fitzgerald and Tule sleep inside in their carer's bedroom on their own bed, but in the morning when we wake they come to the side of the bed and jump up when given permission. They will settle down, Tule at the end of the bed or will try on a pillow if given the chance ( which is not encouraged), whilst Fitzgerald likes to cuddle up. They are both lovely dogs but will need more training to walk and approach dogs properly and also to not get so excited when people come to visit.
