STOP PRESS! WALDORF & STATLER TAKE THE LIVING ROOM COUCH!
The muppet critics have moved their show from the study to the living room, and are regularly found lolling on the couch giving their stream of commentary (hiss hiss meow hiss hiss) along with elegant grooming sessions and serious napping breaks. It's hard work being a critic you know! But they've decided the advantages are pats as the human walks past, and closer to the kitchen. Very important indeed to ex-street cats.

Waldorf was rescued from the streets of outer Melbourne in a terrible state, he had a massive abscess on his ear and fight/bite wounds all over him. And like most nice cats who end up on the streets through no fault of their own, he is also FIV positive and needs a dental (which is included in his adoption fee).
But some time in foster care and Waldorf has gone from striking out with fear aggression to sitting on his favourite chair in the study accepting pats and attention - mind you, he and his hissy friend Statler (both named after the critics from the Muppet Show) have plenty to say! Waldorf has graduated from only hisses, now Waldorf will meow when he's excited or interested, and do little hippity hops for joy when his food is being served. He's gotten very brave and now ventures out of the study (his comfort zone) and sits on a scratching post and waits for pats and strokes when you go past. He's even started lurking near the doorway of the catio watching the goings on with the other cats, or lying decoratively in the hallway hoping for more pats. He's not the playing type, but he doesn't mind having a bit of a scratch on his scratching post before settling down on his favourite chair or perch and waiting for your attention while watching the world go by.
This big handsome block champagne ginger coated white gloved, lop eared, war torn gentleman is looking for a home, whether a foster or a forever home. To adopt a cat from Cat People you'll be required to have a remote or in-person house check done, show photo ID & proof of address, and fill out & sign an adoption contract.
Cats from our group are all are vet checked, flea treated, wormed, vaccinated and desexed before being taken home by their adopters. Additionally, all of our cats have been evaluated for behavioural traits, fed a high-quality diet, and well socialised. Please note: all Cat People cats and kittens are indoor only, this is not negotiable.
We will communicate with you through every step of the adoption process to ensure that your experience (and the cat's) is excellent and that you are confident in your decision to adopt a feline companion. Returns are only accepted due to health issues confirmed by a veterinarian.
We only accept adoptions from people with residency in Australia. If you are on a work or student visa, talk to us about fostering with the group instead!
