Prepare to have your heart melted by Banjo’s adorable puppy face and super soft fur. Although at 3 years old, he’s more akin to a teenager, you won’t get the sullen treatment from this sweet boy. He loves, loves, loves his humans and his favourite place is curled up beside you with his head on your shoulder while you Netflix and Chill. However, he is a working dog breed, designed for an active lifestyle and he requires plenty of exercise to keep him happy, healthy, and well-behaved. He is house-trained and knows basic commands but needs more practice walking on a lead as he still gets quite excited trying to take everything in! But he is a fast learner who is eager to please and is very receptive to corrective feedback so lots of positive reinforcement and treats please! His favourites are salami and twiggy sticks - no cheese please!
Banjo is a pat-hog and gets a bit jealous if he goes too long without attention. So he would be best suited to a family with a playmate of similar size and temperament who can keep him company when his humans are out but doesn’t steal too many cuddles away from him. Banjo needs to be allowed in the house where he can be close to his humans so please don’t put his bed outside. Banjo is in foster with a 2 year old child that he adores and has come from a home where there were 6 cats.
Banjo really is a man’s best friend kind of dog. Whether it’s tearing up Castle Hill, riding shotgun in your 4WD or slumbering peacefully at your feet – Banjo will be with you every step of the way.
