About Tabu - Located in Preston
Dont let Tabu's looks fool you, while he has a scruffy exterior, Tabu is all cuddly kitten underneath. Tabu loves a good chin and head scratch and will keep coming back for more! If you are after a cat who is always by your side Tabu is for you, he is loyal boy and will always be right beside your shoes.
He is ok with kids 6+; he's not playful but doesn't mind cuddles and attention from little humans. He is looking for a home without other cats as he doesn't like to share his humans.
He must also be kept indoors due to his medical history. Please see medical notes.

Medical notes
The adoption fee includes desexing, microchip, current vaccination, flea and worm treatment while in care.
When Tabu came into care he had a fractured left hind leg that required surgical plating and splinting while it healed. This paw may be prone to developing arthritis later in life but at this time has completely healed.
Tabu is FIV+ but don't see that as a negative, because he really is a great catch.
FIV positive cats live a normal life for many many years and we cannot predict the life span of these cats. FIV positive cats sometimes have a scruffy coat and the condition can lead to chronic recurrent infections in the mouth, eye and skin. FIV cannot infect people, however it can infect other cats through bite wounds commonly from fights. FIV positive cats can co-exist with other cats that don't have FIV without issues.
We encourage that the cat is either an indoor cat or a confined cat - eg access to a cat run outdoors. We recommend regular vet visits (6 monthly) to monitor weight, coat changes, mouth etc.

Typical of cats with FIV Tabu has already required a dental scale and polish and had a number of teeth removed. His vets recommend he has a dental diet to help reduce how often he needs his teeth cleaned under anaesthetic.
Maneki Neko Cat Rescue would like to help ensure you and your new companion have a long and happy life together.
If you should find that you are not a purrfect match - or if you need to rehome your cat at any stage of its life - Maneki Neko Cat Rescue will take the cat back into care and find a new home.
Maneki Neko Cat Rescue provides a 7 day health warranty on all adoptions.
Although all our cats and kittens are health checked prior to adoption, sometimes the stress of a new environment can upset their immune system.
