About Lady Ella
Ella is a beautiful 3yo, pedigree blue dane bred by hildydane kennels. She has been spayed and is micro chipped, as well as having pet insurance, which the new owner could probably take over. Lady ella is being re-homed due to a marriage breakdown. She has always slept inside on a big padded bed (most of the day) and really never spent more than half a day by herself so she is not an outside, leave at home dog. She has been well cared for with much attention and must be with company. She adores children, loves their energy and recently spent a couple of weeks with my girlfriend and her 6yo, 4yo and 2yo children. She loved it. She has never shown any aggression to people. She has spent a lot of time being socialized and loves boisterous playing with other big dogs but unfortunately thinks that chasing small dogs is a game, much to the horror of small dog owners. Also, sometimes she gets carried away and playtime can get mildly aggressive when she or the other dog doesn’t know when to back off. She needs more training to socialize her properly with all dogs or needs to be on a lead around a lot of dogs. I think this behavior comes from some insecurity she has. As a puppy a lot of other dogs put her in her place so she is always a bit guarded initially. That said, my mum has a staffordshire terrier and they get along famously, playing and sleeping together when around each other. She enjoys living with another dog (we take in my mum’s dog when she goes away for weeks at a time) – it’s just strange dogs you need to be alert around. She is in a backyard with 6ft fences so we’ve never worried about her escaping. She’s never tried to go anywhere anyway – she’s happy at home and sleeps most of the day… she has also spent a lot of time at the beach and loves the water. She is very happy in the back of the car – we have vw golfs and she loves just flopping in the back for a long drive to the beach house. She is reasonable on a lead but constantly has to be reminded to “heel”. She has selective obedience… when she sees another dog however she will leap and/or carry on so she needs someone strong to control her (and more training). She gets run most mornings and she is good when they run. She has only seen cats on the street and thinks they are “dinner”. She has seen horses and once over the initial curiosity tends to stay away. Rabbits are great to chase too but she usually gives up fairly quickly and comes back. She is very healthy without any problems. As a young puppy she had a mild skin irritation which has not given her any grief since – that was 2 ½ years ago. She is fed the most expensive dog food, eagle pack, for giant breeds so we’ve never skimped on her upbringing. She’s vaccinated etc. We would like her to be rehomed in victoria, or at least the new owners to come to melbourne to meet her (and we to meet them). She must live inside. We feel like we’re giving away a child so won’t give her away easily. We’re not looking for a fee – but the new owners must be able to look after her in the same way as we do, exercise her well, feed her properly etc. If they intend to keep her outside all day, or be away at work all day we won’t let her go. Please phone rather than e-mail
