About Eclipse
ECLIPSE: FROM HISSES TO KISSES
This little velveteen girl has been in rescue for two years now. Apart from her immediate bond with her carer she was initially pretty antisocial and quite defensive. However, once all her kittens were adopted and the hormones settled down, her intelligence and quirky little personality began to shine. Lipsy (as she likes to be called) is actually VERY social and needs to have someone around a lot. She does not like to feel lonely or abandoned. While not quite a cuddlepuss, she will insist on being near you and being part of everything. She loves to lie on her carer’s tummy or beside her on the couch, will join you for afternoon naps (oh yes) or with anyone in the house watching tv from the bed. (Beds are purrfect). When you are active in the house she will watch you most of the time (and involve herself if she can) although she will at least once a day, take herself off and find a corner for ‘alone time’. Most of the time, if approached, Lipsy will roll over on her side or back and do a little ‘happy dance’ if you approach her. It is important to know that as much as she seeks closeness, she has a very soft coat and too much patting or patting the wrong way will invoke ‘the infamous Lipsy no’.
Predictable routines and access to outside times were major keys in settling this little girl down. In fact, the only thing Miss Lipsy loves more than her people, is outside time. Her carers have a fully enclosed outside area and while initially, Lipsy spent a good part of her time playing escapee extraordinaire, she soon settled and now simply just enjoys lying in the sun or walking in the garden.
She lives with two other cats....one is a dominant boy who is pretty good at putting her in her place. The other is a little scaredy cat who cannot be left alone with Lipsy as she becomes aggressive with him and so they need to be kept separated. Having said that, they do seem to keep each other entertained and stimulated. Due to her patting aggression, it is not recommended Lipsy be adopted into a home with children. Dogs would also be a no no. Moreover, this little girl is exceptionally healthy, quiet, very clean and rarely scratches furniture. She likes high places, loves anything new and seems to think anything shifted is a brand new thing. She is best suited to someone looking for a ‘little mate’ because she is very relational and super-smart.
(Please note: all our cats kittens are adopted as inside only)

Adoption details
Once you have decided you would like to meet or apply for one of our pets, we email out our Adoption Application. We ask that the Adoption Process be read and if comfortable with how we adopt, complete the application and email it back for processing. This takes approximately 5-7 days. If approved the pet will come for a 6 week trial. We believe it takes that long for a pet to settle. If all goes well during the trial and you wish to finalise the adoption we email all vet certificates and change of microchip forms. We believe in matching the right pet with the right home so your application does not guarantee an approval.
