About Zulu
Hi there, I'm Zulu!
I'm a strapping young lad with a heart of gold. I love nothing more than spending time with my humans and asking for lots of love and affection. I've got so many fans at Greysland with my good looks and charming ways, and I know you'll be under my spell in no time as well.
I'm looking for a home where I can play, eat and repeat! Because I'm still quite young, I can get a bit excited and bouncy sometimes, so I'd love a family who can help me learn with some fun training and enrichment activities. Anything with chicken has got my vote!
While I'm a big boy, I'm a very gentle soul and I get along great with kids. I can sometimes be a bit nervous about meeting other dogs, but I just need more practice (I'm sure some chicken will come in handy here too!)
Above all, I'm looking for a home with some kind humans who can give me all the love and attention I deserve... does that sound like your place?
A note from Zulu's foster family
Zulu is doing great in foster care!
Zulu loves walks and treats (peanut butter is his favourite). He loves to be cuddled and be near someone, getting head pats and back scratches!
He is a big boy and doesn't always realise his size! When he gets excited, he can run around and jump, so we are working on this and rewarding calm behaviour. Because of this, Zulu would be more suited to a home with older kids rather than young ones.
Zulu's routine is a walk in the morning after an early breakfast, some enrichment to keep him occupied, followed by resting most of the day with some breaks for playtime with toys and a kong. He has another walk in the afternoon followed by dinner and another enrichment toy.
Zulu doesn't dislike other dogs, but is standoffish at times. He is getting better over time, but I don't think he's suited to a home with small dogs at this stage. We have gradually been trying out new walking routes and he gets comfortable with them after a few days.
If you think you'd be interested in meeting me, fill out an application form and the volunteers at Greyhound Rescue will get on the case. Our matchmakers go to greyt lengths to match each hound with the right family to make sure everyone's happy, and you'll become part of a wonderful rescue community with lots of support along the way. Adoption details
All of Greyhound Rescue's adoption and foster placements are on a case-by-case basis. We will send you an application form to complete and return. Then we will arrange a house check. It is important that the right hound goes to the right home! We can arrange for you to meet the dog/s and they can meet your family and/or other pets. Our hounds go “on trial” with your family for a minimum of 2 weeks.
Greyhound Rescue's adoption fee is $420. All our hounds are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated, and heartworm tested and treated. The adoption fee also includes our New Adopter Kit - collar, leash, muzzle and loads of other goodies to help you get your new hound settled into the family.
