About Jenga
I’m Jenga!
Do you love fun and games? Well, as my name might suggest, I sure do!
I am obsessed with toys and would love a home with a whole heap! You know what goes well with a toy basket? A yard! I think I’d really love life as a ‘burb boy, chasing my toys around the yard.
I'm in foster care at the moment, enjoying lots of TLC. I even got my first birthday cake recently - it was the best thing EVER!! I'm loving this pet life and I can't wait to find my forever home. What do you think - you, me, games night that never ends?
A note from Jenga's foster family
Jenga is the perfect dog! We joke that he's the dog you can have when you don't want a dog!
Jenga spent some time living with another big dog and they were absolutely fine together, in fact he gained a lot of confidence when walking with his buddy and he learned so much from being around him. I think he would be fine living with another bigger dog. He is still a bit funny around the smaller ones. He can get a bit fixated, but moves away easily when I ask him to. Slow introductions are a necessity.
Jenga has settled into home life amazingly well. He hasn't been frightened of anything in the house or on walks. He is inquisitive and handles stairs like a boss. At night, he sleeps happily in his crate. He is toilet trained and has had no accidents in the house.
Jenga is fabulous on the lead. He doesn't need long walks, but loves having a grassy spot to lounge outside. He's happy with his own company and enjoys being able to go outside when he likes. Jenga can be left for short periods of time without a problem. He is okay with kids, but would be better suited to a home with children over 12.
Jenga's favourite food is cheese! He can be a bit picky with food, some days he eats happily and other days he's not as interested. His coat is becoming so shiny and he is looking more and more healthy every day.
Medical notes
Jenga has pannus which requires ongoing daily eye drops. He is also on daily pain relief.
Adoption details
All of Greyhound Rescue's adoption and foster placements are on a case-by-case basis. We go to great lengths to match each dog with their new family to make sure that both dog and family are happy. We offer post-adoption support to our rescue community so that each adoptive family and hound are cared for.
We will send you an application form to complete and return. Then we will arrange a house check. It is important that the right hound goes to the right home! We can arrange for you to meet the dog/s and they can meet your family and/or other pets. Our hounds go “on trial” with your family for a minimum of 2 weeks.
Greyhound Rescue's adoption fee is $420. All our hounds are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated, and heartworm tested and treated. The adoption fee also includes our New Adopter Kit - collar, leash, muzzle and loads of other goodies to help you get your new hound settled into the family.
