Sophie is an exceptionally pretty dark torti girl who desperately wants love but is still getting used to human touch.

Sophie was rescued from a factory in Dandenong and had not been handled by people during her young life. Once in our care, Sophie hid in her enclosure for a few weeks but as time has gone on she has become more and more used to people and is starting to come out of her shell.

But she is a work in progress, and will need a patient and loving person to take the time needed to win her trust.

Sophie needs the safety of her enclosure but she explores at night/early morning with her foster carer’s young cat, who helps her with her confidence.

Sophie will hang out on the cat tower, couch or kitchen chair however she will quickly return to her enclosure when approached. Over time we’re sure this will improve. She has begun sleeping in the cat tower during the day, letting her guard down just that little bit more.

Sophie will greet her foster carer and comes out of her enclosure for a pat. She loves a head rub and full body rub right down to her tail, and she constantly purrs while getting a pat.

Sophie LOVES her food and this is where you will be able to win her over. You will need to understand that Sophie does not like to be picked up but that she will soak up all the pats you can give her.

Ideally Sophie would go to a home where she will have another cat to help build her confidence. Sophie is very social with other kitties and this could really help progress her love for people. Sophie has been in care with a cat-friendly dog, so with the right slow introductions she could cope with a dog too.

Sophie is the sweetest, most gentle girl who eagerly comes out of her enclosure to greet the day. She just needs someone with understanding, kindness and a bit of experience with timid cats to help her flourish.
