About Bob Saltmarsh
TO APPLY FOR ADOPTION OF BOB PLEASE SEND IN APPLICATION FORM AVAILABLE BELOW:
https://www.victoriandogrescue.org.au/about-vicdrg/adoption-and-foster-application-forms.html
Please note: Bob will be rehomed to an adult family only.
Bob Saltmarsh definitely needs a home with someone around most of the time as he does have separation anxiety and does not like being left alone. He particularly likes males. His anxiety will improve as he settles and has adequate preparation but he will always need his person around as much as possible. He would suit a younger retired person or someone who works from home, and an adult household. He is a rural boy and would be fine with another dog that wasn't in his face. He has lived with a cat in the past.
He is timid with new people and new situations and lacks confidence. He would prefer a quiet life with someone who loves him and understands that he will be reserved with visitors and new situations. Bob needs a person who understands that, will give him space initially, and then will be his protector in the future.
He is great on lead and very obedient although like most sighthounds he does have a high prey drive, and we would not recommend him with stock or inappropriate off leash activity. He will need secure fencing especially when you are not there.
He is a clingy boy so you need to want the type of dog that will want to be in whatever room you are. If you are interested in Bob and think you can give him a good home, or believe you would be a suitable foster carer do contact us as we have to move Bob.
Thank you to Heather Dixon for these lovely photos.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer a six-week full refund, free assistance for six weeks for any issues, and a lifetime takeback policy with a fifty percent refund of the adoption fee, and of course an invitation to our adopters’ Christmas party.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
