About Gemma
Gemma is a sweet, loving 7 month old girl looking for a new start. She is currently restricted to crate rest for another 4 weeks due to having FHO surgery (femoral head ostectomy) on her (R) leg. Gemma is showing her playful side when taking her out to toilet, she likes to grab the lead and walk herself. She does play with toys in her crate and when having some free time out of the crate (on lead only) Gemma is pretty obedient and is learning to wait before coming out of the crate, she will sit and wait for her food also. She has a bit of sass and back chats you when you tell her to calm down, she does at times get excited and tries to bounce around so a firm guiding hand is a must. Gemma loves to cuddle on the couch and enjoys a good scratch behind the ears. She will go far once given the all clear by the vets, she is gaining more strength in the leg and has started to weigh bare on it. She is good around the other dogs, ok around cats but would love to chase them. She has also been good around a 2 year old child, if Gemma seems like a good fit and you could manage the crate rest then put an application in. It’s a great time to bond with her also.
Medical notes
Recovering from FHO surgery, needs strict crate rest for another 4 weeks.

**PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE SENDING AN ENQUIRY OR CALLING US!**
OUR ADOPTION PROCESS
1. You see a dog you like.
2. Fill in our online adoption form by clicking here or on our website. Be sure to include any questions you may have on our adoption form. This form does not obligate you to adopt, it simply gives us an idea of your situation and needs.
http://farmdogz.com.au/adoption-application-form/
3. If your are successful, one of our volunteers will contact you to organise a meet and greet at your home and conduct a yard check at the same time.
4. Should all go to plan, you will be welcomed to start your 2 week trial period immediately. Adoption fee will be required to be paid at the beginning of the trial period.
During the 2 week trial period, should you decide that this dog is not for you, you are welcome to return the dog (the more notice the better, to ensure we have a foster carer available) and your payment will be retunded to you in full, within 3 business days of the return of the dog.
**PLEASE NOTE: WE ASK THAT YOU PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT US BEFORE FILLING IN OUR ONLINE ADOPTION FORM**.
We are a volunteer run organisation, who have their own jobs during the day, we don't have someone manning our phones 24/7, therefore cannot respond to all inquiries immediately. The fastest way to have your questions answered is to include it in the application form. This will speed up your application with us, and help us communicate with you faster.
Please be patient with us, as the unpredictable nature of rescue may prevent us from clearing all enquiries regularly.
