About:
Maitake came into care very skinny and scared as part of the mushroom litter. They had little human exposure before coming into BFF care and Maitake used to express this with a lot of hisses. After a bit of time in care, his carers can hardly believe he is the same cat! Maitake is a chunky, soft and floppy cuddle monster who is always purring his little head off and is the most confident people-orientated kitty! He has a gorgeous silky soft shiny black coat and amber eyes he uses to blink up at you for more pats… or food! As much as Maitake loves his cuddles, he loves his food just as much. Watch him at mealtimes, not because he’ll try to help himself before you’re ready – he won’t. He’s the polite one of his siblings – but because he will follow you so closely, he often walks between his carer’s feet and will rub and rub against you so you don’t forget he’s there and waiting.
Maitake loves running around and playing, and cuddling, so a feline friend would be a big bonus for him to chase and play with, and cuddle. He is usually followed around by his less confident brother and has been a great confidence booster for him. Maitake currently lives with a large dog, and while he prefers not to interact with the dog, he doesn’t mind being in the same room or up close. He would just prefer a calmer dog and could do without all the puppy kisses, thank you.
