If Bear wasn’t sometimes stubborn and didn’t occasionally show signs of selective hearing, especially around food, his profile would seem too good to be true. His minor faults, let’s call them quirks, aside, Bear is a gentle, adorable and playful big boy.
Bear loves to run around the yard, chasing his ball, the wind flapping his long ears back. Exercise is important to Bear and he enjoys two long walks a day as well as some playtime. Bear needs a home with a yard, a dog door and owners who have the time and energy to meet his exercise and playtime needs.
When he’s not keeping fit, Bear loves to roll around in the sun, nap or just be by his foster family’s side. Bear needs someone who is home most of the time as he develops strong bonds with his humans and doesn’t like to be apart from them. In return for pats and affection, Bear will keep you entertained, be forever loyal and your best friend.
Bear is good with other dogs, house trained and walks well on a lead. Too good to be true, right? He is also obedient and knows basic commands. He hasn’t been tested with cats at this point.
Any time invested in Bear's love and care will be returned tenfold. The family who Bear chooses to take him home will be very lucky indeed.
Thank you to Hamish of Appleby Photography for the fantastic photos of Bear.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer a six-week full refund, free assistance for six weeks for any issues, and a lifetime takeback policy with a fifty percent refund of the adoption fee, and of course an invitation to our adopters’ Christmas party.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
