Lexie is a stunning Great Dane x Mastiff. She’s a friendly girl, in fact a little too friendly to be around small children. She finds it hard to contain her excitement and is too much in the face of children under about 10 years old. Lexi has more work to do on her manners and is still learning to give space when asked. She loves visitors, again getting very excited. She hasn’t had much socialisation and is reactive on lead when seeing other dogs. She has been working on her on lead training and has come a long way in the last month. She needs to continue with training to be able to pass by other dogs and remain calm. She’s not suited to be an off-leash dog and had no experience socialising in this way. Lexie has had doggie friends but had a bad experience about 18 months ago and since then her owners have found she is more unsure and therefore have not done any more dog meets.
Lexi needs an experienced handler as she’s a super smart girl and very strong willed. With the right handler Lexi will shine like a diamond. She can keep her focus when directed well and loves to work. Lexie is not suited to live with cats. She’s toilet trained, loves to be inside with the family. Lexis is used to being left for a short workday but only after a morning walk.
Lexie is still very playful and loves a game and ball time. She’s very affectionate and eager to please. She will listen, knows sit, lay down and will wait patiently for her food when asked.
Lexi will do best with someone who can project calm and assertive leadership as she responds so well to it.
Please get in touch if you are the perfect home for Lexi.
