About Gari
Gari is the sweetest boy around. This pup just adores people and loves to cuddle up with you. He enjoys meeting new people and getting their attention. Gari is definitely a big smoocher and sometimes a sooky boy who just craves your companionship and love. He is more timid in nature when out and about and can take a little while to feel comfortable in new surroundings but once he is relaxed he is a typical happy and playful pup. Gari will do well with experienced owners who can read him and can continue his socialisation and exposure in appropriate ways.
During his time in care, Gari has been with one of his siblings and another adult playful dog. He has also met a few other doggy friends and has been friendly with them all. He enjoys playing but doesn’t like it when things get too rough. If his sister and the dog in his foster home get too much for him he just takes himself off to his bed for some time out. As with any young pup, Gari will need ongoing positive socialisation with other dogs to ensure that he remains friendly and social. As a working breed mix, it is expected that he will be a moderate to more active dog who will require substantial daily exercise & mental stimulation. Gari is expected to be a larger medium sized dog (around 18-25kg at a guess) but he is a mixed breed so we cannot guarantee this.
Gari is learning some basic skills with his foster carer. He is getting sit but gets a bit excited and has trouble keeping his wiggly butt on the floor! Gari is willing to please though so with patience and persistence he will come along well. He has learnt to use the doggy door in his foster home and is progressing well with his toilet training. As he is still young there is still plenty of for him to learn and it is important that his new family are committed to furthering his training. Puppy school is a good start, but Gari will require more ongoing classes and training to reach his full potential and ensure that he grows up with good manners. Training is also an essential component of providing mental stimulation and avoid problem puppy behaviours that stem from boredom.
We are looking for an experienced home for Gari where he will be a part of the family and included in the day to day activities. He will require a home where someone is home most of the time to give him the companionship he craves and/or where there is another adult dog to keep him company and give him some playtime. Gari should be allowed inside to spend time with the family and will require a warm comfy bed to sleep on inside at night. It is expected that he could live with children, but older more dog savvy children would be preferred as he likely has some working breed in him. As he is a young pup it is expected that he could coexist with other pets with the right introductions and guidance.
If you are interested in offering Gari a loving new home with lots of cuddles then you are welcome to apply by completing a Dog Adoption enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website as the next step.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
