About Willow
Willow is the perfect beach companion. There’s nothing she loves more than jumping in the car on a warm day and jetting off to the nearest beach. And if there’s no beach near, Willow will find water wherever she can – a shell pool, a pond or even a puddle will do. She’s a true water baby and will do anything to be able to play and splash around. She will also lie outside in the rain if given the chance!
She’s a happy-go-lucky pup who will find the joy in every day. Her tail is permanently wagging and a cheeky smile is constantly on her face. Willow will never say no to a cuddle and is notoriously affectionate. She’s adjusted well to life in foster carer and now responds to her name with a very cute tail wag.
She’s learned to walk politely on a lead and will respond to ‘stay’ and ‘stop’. She exhibits some caution when meeting other dogs, preferring to avoid or ignore them when she meets them along the journey. She’s generally quite relaxed around them, unless they bark, which she finds a little frightening! Further socialisation will help her feel comfortable around other dogs.
Willow has Pannus, and eye condition that can be managed with regular eye drops.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
