Adoption information
I've been adopted!
About Leo - Located in Tarneit
Leo is an indoor cat who loves to be pet and to drink water from the tap!! He is a friendly cat who likes to be around people and loves to have some good attention. This 6-year-old cat could become your best friend, he likes to be picked up and caress your face while doing it and he enjoys to play around with strings and elastic hair bands!
He cries quite a lot when he wants water since this fancy boy only likes it fresh from the tap or possibly a water fountain. He doesn’t nap much but he surely likes to hang around close to you. If you are having a zoom meeting expect him to try to sleep on your lap. Also, if you would like some company while sleeping, this guy surely loves to sleep next to you.
He is such a good boy and sweet. He lives in his world sometimes, but when he gets all warm and loving he can be such a sweetheart. Leo is FIV+ (please read the medical notes) but that doesn’t stop him since he is a healthy and active cat. He will fit in most households, within big or small families, large or small apartments, loud or quiet places, with or without other pets. Leo adapts to his surroundings and he is not aggressive nor scared of anyone or mostly anything but the vacuum cleaner.

Medical notes
The adoption fee includes desexing, microchip, current vaccination, flea and worm treatment while in care. No health issues unless listed below.
I am FIV+ - but don't see that as a negative, because I really am a great catch.
FIV positive cats live a normal life for many many years and we cannot predict the life span of these cats. FIV positive cats sometimes have a scruffy coat and the condition can lead to chronic recurrent infections in the mouth, eye and skin. FIV cannot infect people, however it can infect other cats through bite wounds commonly from fights. FIV positive cats can co-exist with other cats that don't have FIV without issues.
We encourage that the cat is either an indoor cat or a confined cat - eg access to a cat run outdoors. We recommend regular vet visits (6 monthly) to monitor weight, coat changes, mouth etc.
Maneki Neko Cat Rescue would like to help ensure you and your new companion have a long and happy life together.
If you should find that you are not a purrfect match - or if you need to rehome your cat at any stage of its life - Maneki Neko Cat Rescue will take the cat back into care and find a new home.
Maneki Neko Cat Rescue provides a 7 day health warranty on all adoptions.
Although all our cats and kittens are health checked prior to adoption, sometimes the stress of a new environment can upset their immune system.
