About Horace
i there!
My name is Horace and I’m all smiles because I am ready to find my forever home!
I’m an ex-racer, but I’ve been learning all about suburban living at my foster home and my carers say I am a great housemate! Just like most greyhounds, I like to spend most of the day chillin and snoozing after a walk around the neighbourhood and a few zoomies. I have been told I walk fabulously on a lead- no pulling from me! I'm also really good about staying on my bed when I'm told and not nosing around for scraps in the kitchen - I'm so polite!
My foster parents have taught me how to play (I didn’t know how before) and I absolutely love to play fetch with the ball! I get to RUN until I’m all wiped out - which doesn’t take long.
I am very friendly and love people! When I first came into care, I was bit nervous to be alone, but after some practice I’m much more independent now. Even though cuddling up next to my humans is my favourite thing - I’m also fine to be at home alone, either in the yard or inside the house. As long as I’ve got a comfy bed and my favourite stuffed toys to keep me company, I’m happy!
I love going for car rides and always hop right into the boot any time its open for me!
Hopefully my new home will have a nice yard for me to sniff around and play fetch in. I love other dogs, but since I’m a greyhound, we have our own play style - if I was to have another dog sibling they would need to be similar sized, relaxed and gentle. Also, living with cats in a no for me - they are just too tempting to chase.
I would love to find a forever home that will continue my training to help me be the best doggy I can be! If you're looking for a gentle, easy going dog with lots of love to give, I'm your man. Look forward to meeting you soon!

Adoption details
Please do not send an "Enquiry". Please instead follow the below steps:
Step 1: Fill in our application form with as much detail as possible - https://forms.gle/sPnL6QS2ik5A5XUR8
Step 2: If suitable, one of our foster carers will contact you via phone to further discuss the dog you have applied for and assess suitability. The same will also be done for other applicants.
Step 3: A meet and greet will then be organised so that you and the dog can meet.
Step 4: Once the meet and greet has been completed, if our team advises that you may be a suitable candidate you will then be required to submit a detailed written application (a template will be emailed to you) - we will then assess all applications and get back to you with an outcome. We may request a home inspection prior to finalising any application.
Dogs are offered for a trial period in new homes for 21 days before the adoption is confirmed.
No entire dogs will be re-homed under any circumstances.
