Hi there. I’m Macy. I’m a 2-year-old Border Collie girl.💕
I’m a friendly and happy girl and I’m looking for my forever family. I’d best suit a family that are sports dog people. Agility or Obedience would suit me well. I show all the signs of doing well in this type of home. I love training and pleasing my human, I'm rear end aware and focused on my handler.
I love people, kids & puppies. Unfortunately, I had a nasty experience when I was young that has left me with an enduring fear of other dogs on initial meetings. My new family must be willing to step up and be my protector and not allow other dogs to just run over and get in my face. Being a sweet, shy soul, I really need time to get to know other dogs. I do have my select working breed friends and enjoy playing with them.
I would best suit a home with kids 5-years and older as I can get over excited around children. It's just that I love them so much.
Since coming into foster care I’ve continued my basic training. I’m food motivated & enjoy my training sessions. I’m a clever girl & learn quickly. I sit & wait for my food, and come when called. I currently use a head halter on walks, but am now graduating to collar and lead training. I go on bush walks with my foster family and foster siblings and love a swim in the dams and creeks.
I currently sleep both inside in a crate and outside in a kennel. I know the command 'crate' and will go in when asked. I’m a good girl and sleep quietly through the night. I live with cats but I would prefer my home have none as I find them terrifying. I also live with chickens and generally ignore them in their pen, but my herding instincts are strong and I would definitely chase them if I was given the chance. I have been tested briefly with livestock and am not suited to a working life.
I’m searching for a family who understands the needs of working breeds and is prepared to provide ongoing training and socialisation. A home that can provide me with both physical & mental stimulation to help me be the best girl I can be. If you think you can provide me with my perfect forever home my foster mum would love to hear from you.
Love & licks,
Macy. ❤🐾
