Xena & Tate ^Dandy Cat Rescue^

Xena and Tate are not from the same family but they both came in to rescue alone at a time where they needed the support of a fellow feline.

Xena came to us as a 1 day old. Unfortunately the 2 siblings she came in with did not make it but she had a real fighting spirit and came along in leaps and bounds. We felt that she needed a strong name and that is where Xena was the perfect fit.

Tate was found at 4 weeks of age in a carport, full of cat flu with one eye completely stuck together. We believe he lost his mum as no siblings were ever found. He was taken straight to our wonderful vet who put him on all sorts of medication to help him get well. Within a few days his eyes were better.

At the time they were introduced, they both were keen for some feline company. Xena was developing her teething baby tendencies and Tate was not too far behind but loved being with you and would cry if left alone.

Right from their first meeting, Xena had a real interest in Tate as he was the first cat of her size she had met and she could jump on him and he would just lay back and take it. From that day on they have been inseparable, and can be found sleeping together on the bed or playing around the Christmas tree.

Xena is the more independent of the two and Tate really loves being with his humans which breaks your heart when you have to leave for work and you can hear him calling to you from the other side of the door.

These two have also had their filming debut having been picked for a cat litter commercial that is still to air. They truly are little stars!

Xena and Tate would be best suited to a home where someone is home a lot of the time and we feel they would be great with cat-savvy children as Tate can be a little rougher when playing. They have been around other adult cats but no other animals, however we think they would be okay with a cat-friendly dog if introductions are taken slowly.
