About Doris ~ 1yr Old Ridgeback X (On Trial 22/01/2021)
Doris is a sweet and quirky 12 month old Ridgeback X, who is looking for her very own Christmas miracle.
Doris is a big girl who absolutely loves her people and wants to be included in everything you do, whether it be a walk to the coffee shop, a play in the backyard or helping you with your outside jobs.
Being young Doris requires lots of time with her family and would be best suited to someone who is home more often than not or with someone that she could accompany to work. When left alone Doris will fret for her family so leaving some extra special toys, treats and kongs will help keep her occupied. She will need a secure backyard with 6 foot fences as she has jumped a smaller fence looking for her humans.
Doris will require daily exercise of at least 30 minutes and some extra playtime in the back yard (e.g. fetch, tug-o-war, zoomies). Being food and praise orientated Doris is showing she can be a very quick learner. She knows some of the basics sit, drop and shake but is still practicing wait and stay. She would benefit from ongoing obedience and socialization training as she can get excited when meeting new people and dogs. She is toilet trained and sleeps inside of a night.
Doris has been well behaved around young kids but can get excited and want to join in when they play, so older kids that are confident with large dogs would be best. Doris has been getting along well with the older male dog (mastiff X) that she is living with, but would be best suited to another medium to large dog that can match her energy and play style. She has not been tested with cats or pocket pets.
