Shadow

Shadow - big cuddly goofy teddy bear! This beautiful staffy boxer bulldog blend is a great mix of playful pup and loyal cuddle buddy, perfect for spooning, excellent sports buddy and A+ foodie taste tester!

Shadow is an incredibly loyal companion, she has the joy and energy of a puppy with her exuberance for playtime and exercise, but can just as instantly calm down and settle for a snooze (preferably cuddled up right by your side!). Shadow has made amazing strides in the short time since being rescued. She went from being a very very shy, timid and scared soul to displaying her funny quirky character whose personality grows each day!

Shadows absolute without a doubt favourite thing to do is to play fetch, with any and every ball you have available. She’s great at bringing it back, dropping it and sitting patiently while she waits for you to throw it. Tied for second is snuggling up with her crocodile that she has had with her since her first night in care (see adorable photo for reference!) and of course a good ol' belly scratch!

Shadow is also a sucker for treats and will sit, stay and shake hands for a tasty morsel. She has great manners and basic training, she will not jump up on furniture or enter rooms without being invited, and obviously one look at that goofy face you can't say no to having lots of couch cuddles! She is perfectly housetrained and is very much an inside dog when she's not chasing flies and demanding games of fetch outside.

Shadow has so much love to give, and is now great with meeting new people (and if ever hesitant the moment you start throwing her a ball you’ve won her over), she is great with the kids she has met too and has made us very proud to see how calm she is with them, however teenagers would be a much better fit for her. Shadow is also good with most dogs who have a gentle and calm manner, but feels threatened by over friendly and playful dogs, or smaller dogs who bark a lot. Shadow is not tested with cats and other small animals. She will be best suited to being an only fur child so she doesn't have to share all the cuddles or share her toys and fetch time.

Shadow does have a tendency to pull on the lead but is getting very good at sitting and waiting at roads before crossing. Nothing more than training and repetition can’t improve! Her preferred form of exercising is definitely playing fetch though, so having a backyard with plenty of space that she can run in and chase bugs and chomp on grass would be ideal. She is not an apartment dog and would thrive with having room to run and be carefree.

Ideally Shadow would love her human buddies to be home as much as possible, she will not love being left alone for really long work hours, she's too loyal for that, and would probably get distressed by being alone for constant lengthy periods.

All up, Shadow is the perfect, loyal, perpetual puppy, ideal for family life. A family who will make her the absolute centre of attention and will dote on her as much as she will to them. A family with older kids/teenagers, that love exercise and of course who love playing fetch as much as her!
