About Stumpy
Named for his stumpy tail, this boy is a ball of energy and love, and the most boisterous of the litter. As with any young pup, his priorities include food, playtime and sleep. He’s always first up in the morning, and the pup who is most eager to play. He is as loyal as anything, and follows us around whenever he can. He’s also happy to hang out with the other pups in the yard, when the humans are busy doing other things. This boy LOVES to wrestle with his siblings, and loves to be around his humans; as such, he must go to a home with another doggo friend, and with someone who is home more often than not. He is the MOST handsome and will be a beautiful companion to the right people. He will need lots of attention and training to keep him on the straight and narrow.
Rescued from the pound with 5 siblings, Stumpy has recovered from a rough start, and is flourishing. His beautifully-natured mum ended up in the pound a week after the pups, so we know that she’s a stumpy-tailed cattle dog cross. It’s anyone’s guess who the dad is, but we see some strong Kelpie features and think they will all be medium sized dogs.
Breed specific: As a mix of the most energetic and intelligent working breeds, all of the pups in this litter will need to go to homes that understand their need for lots of physical exercise and mental stimulation. This will be paramount in helping keep them happy, healthy and burning off all that energy. All of the puppies in this litter would benefit greatly from having another doggo friend at home, otherwise their people should be home more often than not.
Training: these pups are SMART, and pick things up very quickly. Continued training will not only make them easier dogs to have around, but will keep their minds busy.
Cats & other dogs: the pups have been calm with and curious of the wary resident cats (2) of the house, and haven't shown much interest outside of seeing what food they can steal from the cat bowls. They sometimes give chase if the cat runs off, but they’re learning to chill. All of the pups have been friendly with other adult dogs so far; just wanting to play.
Medical notes
Pups will be desexed at 6 months of age payable by Fresh Start Rescue. This is included in his adoption fee.

This is in no way an obligation to adopt but simply gives us some more information about the home, family and lifestyle you have to offer a new pet.
As of 2017, Fresh Start Rescue are no longer placing dogs in homes with children under the age of 9 years old. We know this will frustrate many families looking to adopt, however for the safety of both those families and are beloved dogs, we have decided to put this measure into place.
