About Ruby and Rosie
Our names are Rosie and Ruby and our foster mum says we are the bestest girls ever. We are a bonded pair and love to do everything together, and we are well behaved and do all the things perfect ladies do. We love going on strolls .. slow and leisurely is the way we like it. That way we can appreciate the scenery. We do however get up to mischief at times when we scratch in the garden but luckily not to much damage is done. We both take our medication like champions (see below for our medical notes) and view it as treats. We are cuddle bunnies and we loves to lay by our person or cud
I, as in Rosie, am older and a have a few more health issues than my sister, but adopting a senior dog is very rewarding and I’ll make it worth your while! I may not have a long time, but I’ll make it a good time!dling each other.
I, as in Ruby, get quite nervous when I hear loud noises and am not a fan of the vacuum cleaner. Storms and heavy rains scares me to no end and having a good cuddle is the place I like to be when that happens, or a dark out of the way cubby hole (like foster mums shower).
Medical notes
Rosie is a senior girl at 11 years and 3 months old, and she has a few health issues that need to be considered carefully before adoption. Firstly, Rosie has a Grade 4 heart murmur and is currently taking Vetmedin 1.25mg twice daily (approx cost $82 for 50 = $3.30 per day) It is important that she have regular vet check ups and have her testing respiratory rate monitored at home to keep an eye on her heart, but she is doing well on this medication. Secondly, she has some liver issues that have improved since she has started on medication. She is currently taking Denamarin 90g once daily (approx cosy $64 for 30 = $2.10 per day) and Ursodial 10mg twice daily (approx cost $140 for 100 = $2.80 per day) Her liver may still improve further yet and these meds may be reduced, therefore she will need regular vet checks and blood tests (every 3-6 months) to keep a close eye on her progress. She has some arthritis that is typical for a dog of her age and we recommend a joint support supplement such as Osteocare Joint Chews or similar. She has already had a dental with 20 extractions - don’t worry, it hasn’t affected her appetite! She has also had 5 wart like lumps removed that weren’t anything nasty. We do offer a complimentary vet check during the trial period where all of her health issues can be discussed further. Rosie may not live to a ripe old age, but she still deserves a wonderful retirement. Rosie is desexed, microchipped, up to date with her C5 vaccination, flea and tick prevention, heart worm and intestinal worm prevention.
Ruby is 9 years old and is in better general health than her best friend Rosie, however she does also have a Grade 4 heart murmur and is on Vetmedin 1.25mg twice daily (approx cost $82 for 50 = $3.30 per day) She has recently had a dental and had 19 teeth extracted, and she now feels much better with those gone! Ruby has some very mild patella luxation and would benefit from a joint support supplement such as Osteocare Joint Chews. She is desexed, microchipped, up to date with C5 vaccination, flea and tick prevention, heart worm and intestinal worm prevention.
