About Buddy
Hi I’m Buddy, I am a gorgeous 1 year and 8 month old Silky Terrier x
My foster family have said that I’m an awesome cuddle buddy who is happy to chill when it’s quiet time and I love to play when it’s play time!
I do prefer to have company with either my foster humans or foster fur sister. They have called me their little shadow once or twice. My dream home would be with someone who either works from home or doesn't work and is a home body. I am still working on being a big boy when new people arrive - I will give a bark but it’s only me hurrying up to tell you that we are friends and can now play.
My foster sisters are a Staffy and Mini Fox Terrier and I have a love and then a sometimes strained relationship – I forget that I am not their shadow and that I once in a while need to step back and give them some space – I may have learnt that the hard way when we have other fosters and they are boys when they pee outside – oops! I also do have some jealousy when mum is cuddling another dog but I am trying to work on that – so mum thinks either a home with only one other dog would be better – she thinks I would be too lonely being an only dog as I do like to play – but people need to be mindful I’m working on my issues
My foster dad calls me his little scarf – I love nothing more than at night laying around my dad’s throat giving him cuddles and showing him all my love. I do, do that in bed as well, or I’m under the blankets – so please know they are my quirks that I will continue in my new home.
I have not been around cats and my foster family thinks it could go either way – if they run I might chase them. I am child friendly but screaming kids or really high energy kids do make me nervous and I do not want to be carried around by children please so I am going to say I would like a home with no children under the age of 10 please.
I am a boy who enjoys the luxury of an indoor life and have great indoor manners. I do like to spend some time outside doing my thing so I would like to have the best of both worlds - inside and outside access when I want.

Paw Prints Canine Rescue is a non for profit dog rescue located in Southeast Queensland.
All our dogs leave our care with full vet work (up-to-date vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, heart worm and intestinal wormed and flea treated).
Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.
Please note - we are not a pound or have kennels - all our dogs stay in foster carers homes and therefore dogs are not able to be simply viewed - only approved applicants will meet the dogs.

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
If applying to adopt one of our furbabies over the age of 6 months we recommend that you bring to the meet and greet any of your furbabies to see how they interact.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 2 week trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
