About Sheldon
I'm Sheldon and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• Rides in the car
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A doggie playmate would be great, if not then lots of socialising with other dogs
• A cat may be ok with a slow introduction.
• I like both friendly male and female dogs
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• Lots of love and attention
• Being a very dog social and playful pupper I would love to go to doggy daycare - I have previously spent some time at Paradise Pet Parks
• I can be shy at first so I need a family who'll allow me to grow in confidence in my own time
• Experienced dog home is a MUST!
• I require a home with no children
Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• Children
My best features:
• LOVE people
• Appears housetrained
• Happy to hang out with other dogs
• Very playful and vocal during play
• I can sit when asked
• Wiggle butt
• Highly food motivated
• Gentle & placid when calm
• I LOVE toys
• I walk well on lead
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• I have had some basic obedience training and am a generally well-mannered dog. I am clever and eager to learn so would love a family who will teach me some cool tricks.
Where I need to improve / Training required
• It appears that I may have previously suffered some trauma and as a result can sometimes show some undesirable behaviours. I have had an assessment by a external behaviorist - please contact the shelter on 44293410 to discuss this in further detail.
• I can initially be destructive (like ripping up my blanket) until I settle in to my surrounds.
• I can get highly aroused during play - being desexed now has definitely helped this and will continue to improve as my boy hormone levels decrease
• I can be quiet shy and timid, my toys are my safety comfort and I will hold one in my mouth when feeling nervous - lots of TLC, socialisation & desensitisation will help this.
• Possessive of my people
• Possessive of my toys
