About Gorgeous Gus
Hi SA, this is GUS ⦠he is a Pug X... šāš¦ŗ
āPlease read his story before you complete an application to adopt him.
We are not sure at all what GUS is crossed with, but we do know that GUS is a very special boy. šÆ
He has a beautiful, brandy-coloured coat, soulful eyes, big floppy ears, and short legs. He is about 20kg and may be a Pug x Labrador or... who knows?š¤·āāļø
He came to us from the RSPCA and has had a terrible life up until now. š¢Gus has had all his vet work completed including desexing.
Gus needs very special people in his life. He has had a very sad early life and is still learning how to have a life where he is part of a family, loved and cared for like he belongs.š
He is a beautiful, gentle and a very cuddly boy when he gets used to you. He has taken quite some time to trust his foster family and to feel that its ok for him to be inside the house and to eat the food that is given to him. He is still frightened of people he does not know, but once he has been properly introduced, he is very loving. When he has decided that you are his human, he will stick to you like glue. š„°
He has had a very steep learning curve during the past few weeks. He has had lots of āfirstsā and we hope he will have many more! He has had his first ever bath which was just full of mud, his first bone, heās been in a house for the first time, heās slept on a soft bed for the first time, he has had his first vet care, his first pats, ... WE would love Gus to keep having lots of āfirstsā in his life.ā
Gus is slowly getting used to a harness and lead but has not made it out of the yard with it on yet. He is frightened of sudden, loud noises and any unfamiliar sounds but he has been coping and learning well. He needs lots of patience and time, but we are sure that this will be a first that he will eventually come to enjoy.
He is now toilet trained. He does like other dogs but will do just as well as an only dog. He has not been tested with cats or other animals. He is not suited to small children now.
Gus needs humans who will love him to bits, help him to feel safe and patiently continue his training. His human(s) must be with him for most of the time. He would be ideally suited to a retired person or couple who have had a dog before and will simply love this dear boy and help him learn about life and joy and freedom and love.š§”
If you feel that you are the right human (s) for Gus please go to our website and fill in an application form to adopt him.
