Jersey and Smudge

Jersey and Smudge have sadly been surrendered because their owner is moving to a place where no dogs are allowed.

Jersey is 5 years old with the gentlest nature of any dog I’ve ever seen. She drops onto her back for a tummy rub nearly every time she is near someone, and she loves everyone she sees.
She looks overweight, but according to her owner was the biggest pup and has always been a thickset little dog. She likes to go on walks but can’t go very far before tiring out - but with regular little walks, her fitness level would improve dramatically.

Jersey loves routine, and will give a little bark if she is unhappy about something- she alerts us if she is out of water; her bedding is not in her bed, and if the washing has finished and it hasn’t been hung out yet!

Jersey enjoys a bath, and she loves it when her bedding is washed. She is very attached to Smudge and will often look around to see where he is, and she nibbles his ears when they go on walks together.

She is fine with kids and loves to lick cats when she greets them. She is cautious around other dogs but friendly and is just an all-round lovely girl.

Smudge is 8 years old and is a lively little character. He’s a loyal boy with a big heart and thinks he’s a Doberman!

He’s an active boy and loves to poke about in bushes and gardens. He likes to dig, and is trained to dig in his little sand pit area (imagine how how much fun he’d have if he lived near the beach!)

Smudge loves his walks. He is fine with kids and loves to play fetch. He also loves chew toys, and hard vegetables like carrots and broccoli stems.

He is extremely affectionate and loyal, and he adores his bestie Jersey.

Jersey and Smudge haven’t lived inside, but were allowed to come and go occasionally. In our experience, older dogs are very easy to housetrain and tend to be naturally clean inside.

Jersey and Smudge will not be rehomed separately.

This bonded pair are in care at Moree, NSW. There are few commercial transportation options available, so their adopter would need to be prepared to drive to Moree to collect them before Christmas (a 7 hour drive from Sydney).
Transport to Orange NSW MAY be a possibility next weekend (19th/20th Dec) but is not confirmed at this stage.
