About Peanut ~ 1.5yr Old Staffy X (On Trial 22/12/20)
Hello! My name is Peanut, I am a young tall 1.5yr Old Staffy X. When I originally arrived with my foster carers, they straight away noticed that I was a big puppy who was just clumsy and didn’t know the boundaries on what was right or not but that I was very keen to learn (probably because I am the nicest boy in the whole world). I am a typical teenager dog, full of energy, keen to learn everything and not aware of my size.
I have already learnt most of the basics now. I understand that my breed combined with my size and enthusiasm can sometimes be a little scary for people who don’t know me so I stick around you and listen to your direction. As a Staffy cross, I have a big jaw. I like to be around my family. All I need is you around me and your love. I would sit next to you or just play with you for hours whatever you want to do because you are the most awesome person on the planet. Therefore, I listen and learn from you a lot because I don’t like when you are mad at me.
I am good everywhere; at the park I don’t go too far away when off leash and I always come back when you call me. I will play with the ball if you teach me but what I love the most is a stick. I jump really high to get it. I am a bit shy with the water but in the summertime with the right teacher I would become for sure the best swimmer as I am very interested. I am so good that I can run with you or pull you while you are riding your bike or skateboarding. I am a friendly and very sociable dog. I love going to the park to meet new friends. I am always interested in a friendly way with another dog but never I am aggressive. Just curious and friendly! I however don’t react too well for the moment whenever another dog becomes aggressive towards me and always stand up for myself to threats. My foster carers are teaching me to stand down as it is the right thing to do and would only improve as I mature with time (It is already better since I’ve been desexed). I would need a lot of walking time as I have a lot of energy. When I go for walks on the leash, I am a little excited at the start but then I don’t pull much. I just recently been learning off the Halti lead and been very responsive. I’ve got much to learn yet!
Even though I am so energetic, I never say no to good nap. At home I am very well behaved. I am as good inside as I am outside the house. I am a really high jumper so I’ll need high fencing especially at the beginning until I get to know you better. I am learning not to bark too much when you are not here. I am mostly cat friendly even though sometimes I am a bit goofy with them when I want to play but never mean any harm. I am not needy inside and am just happy to sit and lay next to you. I am always keen for a good scratch on my belly! I am toilet trained. My only weakness is my sense of smell which is really developed. I am interested in all the food but only want to sniff as I respect that it is yours to give or not.
Anyway, please come meet me and I can promise you won’t regret it. I am so loveable! I would be perfect fit for any kind of family but I’d love to have a dog mate and kids around me. The more the merrier!
