About George
Hi, I’m George!
I’m a pretty chilled out guy and am looking forward to meeting a family that I can give all my sweet fluffy boy love to.
I’d love to hangout with you on the couch, or at your feet while I’m in my bed. I’ll let you know when I’d like some scratches and pats by gently bumping you with my big head or tapping you with my fluffy paws. I really do love scratches under my chin!
Walkies are also great and am very good at staying still so that you can put on my harness. I’m getting faster and going further on my walkies, but do like to have a sniff at all the delicious smells along the way.
I think other dogs are great – big or small – and am yet to meet one I don’t like. I’m calm and patient around other dogs and, once I’m comfortable, encourage them to play with me also. I would be very happy to live with some other doggies, but am also pretty happy to chill out by myself, as long as there is a good sunbaking spot for me!
My foster parents have been teaching me tricks and I can already sit and shake paws. I’m especially good at this when I know I’ll get a treat.
One of my greatest achievements is snoring so loudly I woke up my foster parents. I don’t always snore this loud, but think it is pretty funny when I do!
I rarely bark and greet all visitors by wagging my fluffy tail, and tipping and tapping my toes when I get especially excited. I will only bark a couple of times if I hear other dogs barking or if another dog barks at me while I’m out walking.
Living with two foster fur brothers means they’ve left lots of lovely scents in certain areas and sometimes I can’t help myself but to mark my territory over their scent. I’ve been told that is naughty and am making sure to leave my territory marking for outside areas only.
You also need to know that I have a condition that causes me to have dry eyes. I’ve had eye drops for a few weeks now and my eyes have improved so much that I only need the drops once every three days. Once I’m comfortable with you, I’ll happily present my face so that you can put my eyedrops in with ease, a treat always helps too!
If I sound like the good boi for you, please put your application in.
Medical notes
7 year old George has had all of his medical needs addressed including a hernia repair which he has recovered well from. He came into our care with dry eye which is common for this breed, and was having eye drops twice daily. We’ve rechecked his tear production several times, a few weeks apart, and he has improved and now only needs Optimmune drops every few days as needed. He tolerates having the drops well.
He is good health in general, has stable patellas, and has already had a dental, been desexed and microchipped.
He is up to date with C5 vaccination, as well as flea, tick, heart worm and intestinal worm prevention.
