About Snowy ~ 5yr Old Cattle Dog X (On Trial 19/12/2020)
Meet the sweet Princess, Snow White, affectionately called Snowy! This gorgeous loving and gentle girl is a cattle dog cross and 5 years young. Snowy loves nothing better than a cuddle and a belly rub, she is just a big cuddler. Snowy is happy to follow you everywhere. She loves people and kids doesn’t jump
Snowy will need some help on the lead, she loves going on walks but is reactive to other dogs whilst on the lead. Off the lead however she loves to romp around the yard with her foster brother and sister. She loves her food and isn't fussy at all. She's playful and has shown to be obedient when called, much better than her foster siblings!
Snowy would suit a laid back family who will continue to further her education whilst on the lead going for walks. She is house trained and loves a cuddle on the lounge
Due to Snowys colouring she will need to be kept out of the sun during the hot parts of the day, so she will need plenty of inside time and lots of shady cool spots to hang out
Snowy will require a laid back family who will let her have lots of inside time and cuddles. She would love a walk though so make sure your up to one at least every other day. She will not suit a backyard only home and must be allowed inside to bond and be with her family. Cattle dogs are a very loyal breed and love to bond and mesh with their families. This girl loves attention and adoration, so we must find her the perfect home where all of these elements come together. Snowy is fully house-trained and will make the perfect companion she will let you know if someone arrives to visit

As you can see The Princess has a very fair complexion. We have some information below on looking after dogs that are susceptible to the sun
Shade
A cooling tactic is to always provide shade—a big umbrella at the beach, a shady tree at a park, a roof for your backyard patio, or a sun-block top for an outdoor kennel. Your dog will instinctively seek shelter from the sun when the rays become too intense.
Walk your dog early in the morning or later in the evening to avoid the hottest part of the day. Not only will this prevent your dog’s skin burning in the sun’s hot rays, but paths and roads will be cooler and prevent burns to your pup’s delicate paws.
Slip-Slop-Slap
It is important that you use a pet-friendly sunscreen to prevent potential harm caused by licking and ingestion. Vets and pet shops stock effective sunscreens which are formulated especially for dogs. Apply sunblock to the tips of the ears, nose, belly, and groin areas. There are also a number of sun hats available for dogs, however some dogs may not tolerate these and will become distressed.
