About Bear
Bear is a beautiful 2 year old Newfoundland x who is looking for a loving forever home. This boy is gorgeous and deserves a beautiful new family to call his own! He was surrendered due to his family moving house, and is now living in foster care in Newcastle.
Are you the right home for Bear?
In a Nutshell this boy needs a calm life, with no other pets, with people who live a quiet lifestyle, who are able to stay home with him more often than not and take him for peaceful bush walks. Retired, part time workers, shift workers who don’t overlap, those who work from home, as long as he isn’t left alone for hours at a time, Bear will remain a happy pooch!
Bear is fully house trained, loves to have free range of the home and garden, and adores sleeping inside. He is looking for an owner who is experienced with large dogs and lead handling. Bear can relax well in the home and be a loving member of the family.
Unfortunately, Bear spent his 2 years of life in a small yard and has never been outside before and therefore finds the big wide world very scary! Therefore, he needs to avoid busy suburban streets and parks and instead needs to be walked in quiet areas such as bush walks or quiet tracks that are dog free.
His owner will need to continue training with him to help build his confidence and desensitise him. We want to take things slow with bear, baby steps as he learns the world, and allow him to enjoy quiet and calm walks in nature. Therefore, Bear will not be an off-lead dog park/beach goer. He will need to stay away from other dogs and be an only pet in the home.
Children are okay but must be 10+ and dog savvy. He needs solid fencing such as colourbond or timber slatting etc, no rural wire.
Bear is an absolute stunner and a wonderful dog who just wants companionship. He enjoys a good cuddle, scratch of the belly, loves a good chew toy. He will be sure to steal your heart and be a valuable member of your family. He is hoping someone is looking for a 40kg couch potato who is just eager to enjoy his life, lay around the house and go on a walk every day or two.
Bear is ready to meet the loves of his life now and is located in foster care in the Newcastle area. His adoption fee is $500 and he's hoping he's just the perfect addition to a deserving family. Please NO apartments and NO interstate adoption
