Hi my name is Molly and my foster parents call me the little pocket rocket, because I like to play and apparently I am not a very big dog. I love running around with lots of energy when something exciting is going on. I especially love getting up to mischief with all my doggy friends. I will make my own fun when nothing else is going on, which includes annoying my doggy friends by making them play with me. We do everything together like tug of war, wrestling and my favourite game to play whilst my doggy friend sleeps under her dog bed is to jump up and down on top of the bed until she wakes up to play with me again. I am smart enough to understand when other dogs have had enough of me though, especially the older dog, who is sometimes a little grumpy.
I am pretty good at following the leader with other dogs to learn how to deal with new situations, for this reason my foster Mum says I need another dog friend.
I am not a fussy eater and quite often eat fruit and vegetables, however when I am anxious especially in new situations you will find I won't be able to eat any food. I will make up for it when I am feeling more relaxed. My foster family have been taking me to dog training so I learn to not be so scared of new people and although I am really nervous, I am mastering my basic commands and listen well. You will find I will approach people I don't know from behind, because I like to check them out first, sometimes barking and running away if you look at me too much. I am not aggressive though, just super shy. This is why I wouldn't suit young children, who may chase me when I am nervous. I do like pats from kids, as long as they are gentle and slow. Once I know you are okay though I will lavish you in kisses and cuddles. I often will use the safety of standing behind the other dogs to smell and check you out. I think with time I won't always be like this, but need someone happy to work with me to get me to feel safe and loved. I make a really good guard dog and only bark when somebody is too close to my area or if I am excited cause my foster parents have come home. I am very gentle on the lead and don't pull hard at all, happy to trot beside my humans.
My foster family say its Christmas soon and they would like me to have someone to love me and treasure me like I am part of the family, because I deserve the best second chance at life.
