About Rozie DL2568
Rozie is sweet, loving, super cuddly, and is looking for her dream home.
She loves nothing more than being by your side, snoring away on the couch... and boy, can she snore! She is terrible at hide and seek as her adorable snorts and grunts make it impossible for her to hide.
Rozie loves the car and waits at the door hopeful to join you on your outing, as she doesn't like being left home alone. She loves water and will climb into her water bowl without a second thought especially on the warmer days. She'd love a paddle pool so she can hippo to her heart's content.
Rozie is a clever girl and has learned a few tricks while being in foster care. She knows sit, stay, and she now waits very patiently for her food. Rozie loves people and was friendly when tested with kids, she has not been tested with cats. She has lived happily with other dogs and loves to play! While she can be reactive to bigger dogs on lead, she is very food driven and can easily be distracted with treats.
As Rozie is recovering from recent ACL surgery, her activity must be closely monitored. She is allowed to wander around the backyard off lead, but she cannot run around. Rozie will not be able to play for at least another 6 weeks. For this reason she is best suited to a home where she is the only dog for the time being. She does love playing with other dogs, but her recovery comes first.
Rozie will also have ongoing pain medication for hip dysplasia, and may require medicated washes or injections for her skin. Rozie does not handle heat well and requires a nice cool environment, her favourite spot is right under the air-conditioning.
If you're experienced with Bulldogs and handling the special requirements of a brachycephalic dog, Rozie would love to meet you. Email DFLadoption@gmail.com today to apply!
Medical notes
At 21kg, Rozie is a medium sized dog. She's a brachycephalic breed and so is prone to heat exhaustion and breathing issues. Rozie suffers from hip dysplasia and is currently recovering from ACL surgery. Rozie's ACL surgery costs have been covered by the rescue, however her ongoing pain medication and any future medical needs will be the responsibility of her new owner.
