About Bailey
Bailey is a regal greyhound and embodies their favourable characteristics; polite, affectionate, calm and slightly goofy! Being just under 2 years old, Bailey is very well-mannered, and loves to cuddle up whether you’re working from home or watching tv. In his foster home, Bailey took a little longer than usual to settle in but once he did, his personality shined!
Being a country boy, Bailey is slowly learning to adjust to the big city life. Patience is a must as he can be very timid on roads with high traffic. He has been slowly building his confidence with short 20 minute walks at quiet times of the day. Despite his dislike for the hustle and bustle Bailey LOVES his walks and looks forward to several each day.
Bailey is friendly towards other dogs and would love the company of a well mannered medium sized dog to spend his time with and teach him how to “dog”.
He is a very clever and curious boy and loves to get his nose into everything. He is housetrained and sleeps through the night, waiting to be let out in the morning. He has taken great interest to a blanket soft toy that he grabs every night and tucks himself into bed.
Bailey does not like being alone in the night so would appreciate a space to sleep where he can see his owner, he promises not to snore!
Being one of the largest in his pack, he is well aware of his size and needs encouragement when getting in and out of cars or up and down stairs.
He loves is human friends and shows his affection by resting his head in their palms. He’s not one to jump on people or furniture and is truly an easy addition to any family.
Bailey would suit a house where he is allowed indoors with a large yard for him run around in and burn some energy. Being a breed trained for racing (although he never made it to the track) Bailey is not accustomed to the usual commands like ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘drop’ or ‘bed’. His new family should be committed to continuing his training, but he assures you that he will pick it up quickly with the proper guidance!
