About Karla
My name is Karla and I am a thirteen month old German Shepherd whose human mum is now too sick to look after me and has made the hard decision to find me a new home.
I love cuddles and play well in the garden, but also like to go on walks. I pull a little on a lead and will benefit from more training, and love travelling in the car.
Being a young dog I have a lot of energy so am looking for a home with an energetic person or couple, but no children, who have recently had a German Shepherd and understand how much time I need.
I am now in foster care and running around with other German Shepherds, but I haven't been near cats, pocket pets or small dogs. I would be great with a young male German Shepherd.
Intelligence, loyalty, love and companionship is what I will give in abundance when I connect and builds that trust with my new owner.
If you understand the nature of the German Shepherd, have recently owned a German Shepherd, and are looking for a companion dog then please consider me.
If you think you can give me a new home please contact us by selecting "Enquire about this Pet".
Medical notes
Karla is microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and has been desexed.
She has been diagnosed with elbow dysplasia. Her full vet history will be available to her new home. The vet has advised that she does not require surgery at the moment and as long as she cared for the elbow won't cause her any problems. She may require surgery in about five years time.
Karla's owner has Pet Insurance which can be transferred.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
