Merle is a motherly and inquisitive old girl. She enjoys the beach and walks. She does not like cats or other dogs on her territory, but at the beach is relaxed and unfazed unless another dog gets a little too sniffy in her face. She is a good big sister to Mitchell and loves to give him a good lick to clean him up.
Merle will be your little shadow – she follows her carer around the house to keep her in good company wherever she goes. This gorgeous absolutely adores pats and affection, although she often won’t often let on. She will greet you with energy and a wavy tail every morning, but there is a real possibility that it could be because she just really loves her breakfast!
As far as house training goes, if the option is available to go to the toilet outside Merle will choose outside. She sleeps a lot through the day. She is also not patient with young handsy children. With a good dollop of TLC and time she will warm up to you and be your best friend.
Mitchell is a calm and slow old boy, he enjoys slow walks and does enjoy the beach but you will often need to carry him when out and about because he tires quickly. Much like his sister, he will be your little shadow, but if he’s tired he’ll stay where he is and fall asleep. Mitchell just loves a cuddle and a pat, but due to his ageing joints, he is unable to jump on or off the couch.
Michell also has signs of dementia, he has been known to get a bit lost around the house and doesn’t seem to recognise where he is. He will bark to you for assistance with this but once he has had a pat and some reassurance, he relaxes and goes on with his day. Sometimes Mitchell will his housetraining even when there’s an option to go outside, but he really doesn’t mean to make a little mess. He is a goofy, funny old man that deserves all the love you have to give.
Merle and Mitchells foster carers have thoroughly enjoyed meeting this gorgeous old pair, and just know that they will find the right home that realizes how much love this pair still has to give.
