About Myka
****A full application must be completed. Only apply if you fit the criteria!!
You will not be considered otherwise.****
Mikey is requiring a strong handler who will follow up with training. Training will be a condition of his adoption and will be followed up by the rescue group after adoption.
Young children are not suitable for safety reasons.
Mikey came from a yard lockup with no training or interaction. He is young & has just discovered a great big stimulating world. He deserves a great life to enjoy.
He is a strong dog that has recently learnt walking on leash but has impulse control issues when he gets excited. He is great off leash generally, until another dog is spotted, then he is instantly deaf..He wants to run at everyone with an enthusiastic hello and tail wag.
Dog parks over stimulate him, so they are out.
Mikey loves a cuddle and buckets of affection. He just wants to be close to you.
He will strongly bond with you and be a very loyal friend.
Toilet trained, travels well in car, walks on leash, knows sit, stay, shake.
He gets on with all dogs, big & small, he has seen a cat at distance when off leash only once & was recalled successfully.
He really just wants to make friends but his enthusiasm and his strength & size overwhelm some people and dogs. Being big and strong he can knock some dogs over.
Mikey needs a home where he has a compatible playmate to keep him busy, as he loves the company of other dogs too much to be an only dog, people who are socially active and outdoor lifestyle. He is not a suburbia yard dog.
He has great potential and once he matures a little, gets some consistent training in, he will be an extremely wonderful dog.
