About Davo
Davo is the quintessential greyhound. He well and truly fits the stereotype; affectionate, gentle, lazy and sweet-natured, Davo is any greyhound lover’s dream dog.
Despite his big size, it doesn’t take much to tire Davo out. He’s very satisfied with two walks a day, electing to spend the rest of the time sleep in a variety of soft beds and couches around the house. He’s lives in a perpetual state of bliss, eating tasty meals, receiving regular head scratches and cuddles and exploring his neighbourhood. Davo is easily pleased.
As he becomes more comfortable he has begun to show his sweet, quirky personality. He’s discovered how wonderful it is to be patted and is getting increasingly affectionate. Couch cuddles are his new favourite pastime. Davo has come from an environment where he spent lots of time around other dogs, so any trips to the dog park are a breeze. He would be happy as solo dog(more cuddles for him!) but would quite like living with a buddy too. He’s a social boy who would do well with another calm, happy pup for company.
Davo has adjusted to life in foster care unbelievably well. He’s toilet-trained, well-mannered and sleeps throughout he night like an angel. He’s a sweet and loving boy who just wants a family to call his own.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.
