About Eddie
Meet our stunning "Eddie"!!
He is one of the quirkiest boys we have met, he will make you laugh every day. Extremely smart(sometimes too smart) very playful, and quite stubborn. Eddie will want to interact with you immediately but you will have to earn his full trust. He is a great companion, loves to go on walks and would be up for taste testing anything you have to offer. Eddie is not overly interested in other dogs, is fine to say hello to polite dogs, but would rather be the only boy in the home. He is not good with cats but is fine with older kids.
Even though he he super adorable he does have a couple of hang ups his new owner will need to work hard on.
1) His obsession with playing fetch - we have worked hard to help Eddie realise every second of every day is not about fetch. This has opened him up to be more affectionate and interested in what you are doing. You will need to continue on with recommended training in this area.
2) Eddie has a huge fear of cars and travel - We have been working on this and will need to advise strategies for new family.
If you would like to have an extremely well mannered, smart, and loyal dog in your family and can tick the requirements below, we would love to hear from you via completed application.
Are you committed to have patience and earn Eddie's trust.
Are you willing to allow Eddie to become a family member (hair and all)
Have you had experience with collies or can demonstrate you have thoroughly researched the breed.
Do you have a pet free home
Do you have a nice large sized yard for Eddie to explore
We want our boy settled in his new home for xmas, he is so special.
Medical notes
Eddie had cruciate ligament surgery on his rear left leg back in August, he has healed remarkably well. Whilst still gaining muscle in his leg he is unable to do huge walks/runs so will require a fairly easy build up.
Adoption details
All forms (including foster and adoption) can be found at the following link:
http://www.challyanimalrescue.org.au/adopt.php
** Only applications submitted via this link will be considered **
Our adoption process is as follows:
1) Animal is listed on PetRescue
2) Applications are received
3) The application which we feel offers the best-suited home to the pet is contacted for first preference of a meet and greet to see if they 'click' with the animal.
We do not follow a first-in, first-served process and only consider applications completed via our online form.
Due the popularity of some dogs - and the fact that our rescue is run entirely by volunteers - we cannot guarantee that all unsuccessful applicants will be notified, however we will do our best.
