About Carl
4.5-year old Carl is looking for his forever home.
Carl is an independent soul who loves human attention and his own space equally. While he will beg for pats from strangers on walks, and loves a decent pat, he also likes to be left alone while napping (don’t we all? 😊). Carl is a lounger not a hugger, but his handsome face and sweet nature provide delightful company, and he loves hanging out in the same room so he can supervise whatever you might be up to.
Carl is currently in foster care as an only dog however friendly with other dogs, including non-greyhounds, and we think he would be happy to share his new home with a canine sibling. He is also happy as an only dog however would not be suited to being home alone FT working hours. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, his foster family has only recently started leaving him home alone for short periods. While he does show some signs of separation anxiety, he is starting to adjust to time alone, but any new home should be prepared to continue this training and build up slowly.
Carl loves going for walks. When he first came into care he used to freeze a lot but he’s now confident in the big, wide world and will only freeze if you try to walk past his favourite café! He walks nicely on leash and is friendly with people and pups alike.
Carl has lovely house manners, is toilet trained, and knows some basic commands such as ‘down’… which he will do sometimes! Carl is flexible with the type of home he would be happy to live in, and could be an apartment dog with lots of human company or live with another pup and some yard space to play.
Carl’s foster carers describe him as a sweet and gentle boy who you can’t help falling in love with. If you’ve already fallen in love with Carl and think your home might be a good fit for him, please contact us at adopt@amazinggreys.com.au.
