š¤š§”MEET TIAš§”š¤
Hi there, I'm Tia! I was found living it rough with a whole heap of other cats and kittens. The Angels said it wasnāt safe for me to be living on the streets so they brought me in to live with a foster family. At first I really didnāt like living indoors and I made sure my foster mum knew that I wasnāt very happy!
I lived in a crate for quite a while because I was so scared. I would always warn my foster mum to stay away, but luckily for me she persisted and didnāt give up on me. I have now started to realise that living indoors is actually pretty cool! I get to have yummy food whenever I like, a nice warm and comfy place to sleep and lots of toys to play with, but best of all, lots of pats!!
I was so scared for so long that I wouldnāt even let my foster mum touch me. I started getting used to being stroked with a back scratcher (which I love!) but I got pretty brave recently and Iāve found out that real pats from my foster mum are actually pretty great. I love it when I get scratches around my ears, and especially when I get stroked all the way down my back to the tip of my tail. š»
Iām still getting used to being around people, so you will need to go slow when you approach and pat me. I do still get a little frightened and sometimes give my foster mum a little swipe or tiny nip if she moves too fast or scares me, but itās just a warning really ā I donāt even put my claws out anymore when I swipe! I will stop doing this as I gain my confidence though, maybe we can work on it together?! š»
Iām still pretty shy and I get scared easily, so I will need a quiet home with a family that is willing to be patient with me while I settle in to my new environment. A room to myself would be great while I gain my confidence before giving me free roam of the house, just until I feel comfortable. Young children who are loud might scare me and make me want to hide, but I think I would be okay with calm, older children/teenagers who will give me space when needed.
There are some other cats in my foster home and we get along just fine. I think I would really like to have another kitty to play and chill with in my new home, a human-friendly cat might help bring me out of my shell more too. There is also a small cat savvy dog here and he doesnāt bother me at all, we sniff noses sometimes, but other than that he mostly leaves me alone. Iām pretty sure I could get along with anyone, as long as we have a nice slow introduction of course!
My favourite toy is currently my little mouse, which I love to throw around. I love being patted with my scratcher - under my chin is the best spot ever!! I even have a favourite scratcher which my foster mum says I might be able to take with me to my new home.
I love laying in front of the window in a sunny spot and watching all the birds outside. I will definitely need to be an indoor only cat unless you have a secure cat run for me to safely explore outside, that would be the best!!
