Hey friends, nice to meet you!
My name is Simba. I was rescued under agency supervision, from a neglectful home where a lot of animals leave very sick and injured. I unfortunately, was no different. My leg was broken at a very odd angle, and had been left completely untreated. I was in pain, terrified, and dripping in my own urine because I had been locked in a tiny room with several other animals with nowhere to toilet except where we sat. I was in pain even when it was evident the leg injury happened months ago. Something was very wrong- and so OTC sprang into action. My team landed back to base late at night after a 14hr day to save me and the others, and I was at the vet clinic being helped at the very first appointment the next morning.
I had xrays and pain relief, and a specialist was consulted- it was decided it was best for my future to have the leg amputated. I was already getting around fine on 3 legs anyway as it hurt too much to walk it! I went through surgery like a breeze and recovered quickly and have never looked back since! I feel way better now and am a lovely, affectionate and snuggly cat. Even the other male cat here, who didn't get along with me at the start, is now my go-to snuggle buddy! Despite my awful prior owner, I am a very loving and snuggly cat who will happily nap in your lap and give you plenty of affection!
I am litter trained and easy to care for. I behave well at the vet, and while I don't enjoy the car, I don't get sick and travel well. I love to sunbathe in the window, and would love somewhere to sit at the window and see the world! I like my couch cuddles and play time, but am also quite the nap enthusiast. I would prefer a home with another friendly cat to keep me company, or humans who are home more often than not. I am great with children as long as they are taught how to handle me respectfully and gently- I will rightfully defend myself against rough people.
I don't particularly like dogs, so would prefer not to live with any, and it is very important I am kept inside only, unless leashed or in an enclosure outside. Not only are roaming cats a menace to their community, I am also unable to successfully defend myself and escape danger with only 3 legs. Apart from that however, I can do everything a 4-legged cat can!
So what do you think. Could you make up for my first couple years of abuse? Could you kiss me better, and keep me safe? If so, I have a lot of love and entertainment to give back to you. Please consider this cute little tripod; I think you'll find me the perfect boy for your family!
Medical notes
I am a 3 legged cat. This means I should be kept indoors only- but otherwise I can do all that a 4 legged cat can!
I eat Hills Science Biome biscuits, as I had a bit of a stomach upset when I arrived. This is a relatively cheap premium food that I really enjoy, and it keeps me healthy- so it would be great if my new family could keep me on it. It's only about $1.50 per day to feed me. At 4kg fully grown, I only eat around 70g of it per day- so you should get about 25 days from each 1.8kg bag. - Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg breed, age
- Enrichment, exercise and training needs of pet you are applying for

Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet. We will not contact you if you do not complete the form in full.
CAT ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CatAdoptionApplicationOTC
If you apply to adopt but require us to hold the pet more than 3 days before meeting, we will ask you for a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters. If you follow through with adoption after your meet, the $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must notify OTC, and present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic we direct you to in your area. OTC will cover any treatment needed at our authorised clinics.
Ready to roll? Then fill out the application form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox. (www.facebook.com/offthechaink9)
